Ja'afaru-Dambazau-BabandedeThe present administration will accept nothing less than professionalism and efficient service delivery to Nigerians from the new heads of the Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Prisons Service, Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has said.
Dambazau gave the charge on Wednesday while decorating the newly- appointed Comptroller-General of the NIS, Mohammed Babandede, and his NPS counterpart, Ahmed Ja’afaru.
The appointments of Ja’afaru and Babandede as acting heads of the NPS and NIS respectively as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, following the retirements of Martins Abeshi (NIS) and Peter Ekpendu (NPS).
The minister, who charged the Babandede to end the delay in the issuance of passports to Nigerians and ensure general professionalism in the service, also tasked Ja’afaru on the need to fast track the prisons decongestion process while ensuring better training and welfare for officials of the service.
Responding on their behalf, Mr. Babandede assured the minister of their readiness to reposition both services in line with the change agenda of the Buhari administration.
