For how long have you been singing?

“I was doing music by the way. I knew I had to study and that if I should focus on music my attention will be diverted. After my graduation I gave music more time. After my service year I worked in a bank before embracing music fully.”

How did you meet Davido?

“My salary in the bank was so poor so I decided to get another job. Meanwhile, I have recorded a song using my cousin’s piano in late December, 2015 and I shared it on social media late January 2016 and Davido saw it on February 1. Then he followed me and sent me a direct message via Twitter. He later followed me on Instagram and asked if I can do more than playing the keyboard. I then sent him some of the songs I have done. He picked on one that I recorded while still in school and told me ‘guy I am signing you on’.”

Did you abandon your work as a banker because Davido signed you on?

“That was very coincidental, the day I put in my resignation letter was the day I got a call from Davido that I have to relocate to Lekki for my contract with his music label. Even before I resigned I had plan to go look for another banking job.”

There was this controversial tweet by Davido about his own blood hating him over you. How did that get to you?

“Davido wasn’t in the country when he tweeted about that. I was in my house when somebody called and asked who I was fighting with and I told him I was not fighting with anybody. He then told me to check my Snapchat and Twitter handle and I saw the whole drama. At the end of the day when I got to Lekki, I saw everybody; I met love among us all. From my side I said there is no beef but one love. B-red is fine we are all one big family.”
