Drake’s ‘One Dance’ to become longest-reigning chart topper

Drake’s ‘One Dance’, featuring Wizkid and Kyla, is the first song to spend seven consecutive weeks at the U.S singles chart since Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’, which spent the same amount of time at the top in 2007.

If the song continues to hold the top spot this week, it will become the longest-reigning chart topper since Rihanna’s Umbrella, which spent a mammoth 10 weeks at number one when also released in 2007.

Recall, ‘One Dance’ was released shortly after the release date for Views was announced, alongside “Pop Style”. In the United States and Canada, “One Dance” reached number one, becoming Drake’s first number-one single in both countries. Outside North America, “One Dance” also topped the charts in Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

‘One Dance’, recently secured the longest reign at Number One in the UK single charts in nine years, after it spent a seventh straight week at number one.

Bieber to Remix ‘One Dance’

Meanwhile, Drake has recruited Justin Bieber to remix his chart topping single. The pop star debuted the remix over the weekend at an exclusive party in Monaco.

This would be the second time, Drake and Justin Bieber have collaborated on a song called. The first was, ‘Right Here’, which featured on the popstar’s 2012 album ‘Believe’.
