Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has appointed former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, as his Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development.
Yobo earlier in the year retired from professional football and played his testimonial in Port-Harcourt on the 27th of May. The defender retired from international football in June 2014 and he is Nigeria’s record appearance holder.
Governor Wike also appointed Mr. Chibuzor Aholu as the Senior Special Assistant on Financial Matters.
A statement issued on Tuesday in Port Harcourt by the governor’s Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu said the appointments will take immediate effect.
