Lagos Signs Memorandum of Understanding For 4th Mainland Bridge

The Lagos state government Wednesday, 25th May signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 4th Mainland Bridge. According to the governor of the state, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, the new 4th Mainland bridge will serve as an alternative route to the Eastern axis and decongest traffic in the State.

 

According to the state’ Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Ganiyu Johnson, the proposed bridge will traverse from Ajah to North West direction towards the lagoon shoreline to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway via Ikorodu. The approximate length of the road/bridge is 37.9km with a design speed of 140km/h.
It will be recalled that the Government of Lagos started the initial phase of the construction of 4th Mainland Bridge in April, 2016  and in furtherance of the project, a Memorandum of Understanding on the 4th Mainland Bridge was signed today and the announcement was made by Gov Ambode via his official Twitter handle.
