There will be a mass movement of soldiers in the nation’s capital, Abuja, tomorrow and the authorities have warned residents not to panic at the sight of the soldiers.
The Army Headquarters Garrison said its troops will on Friday hold its Route March for officers and soldiers serving in the FCT, for May.
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Aliyu Yusuf, who revealed this in Abuja, said the exercise would hold between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., and that it would progress from the Guards Brigade Sports Complex to Niger Barracks to Mambilla Barracks and back to the Guards Brigade Sports Complex.
Yusuf explained that the exercise was mandatory for all personnel of the Nigerian Army serving in the FCT to test their physical fitness and determine their endurance capabilities.
He advised the public, especially FCT residents, not to panic at the troops’ movement and urged them to go about their normal activities.
