The Southwest geo-political zone will not be relegated when a new National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party emerges from the national convention scheduled to take place on May 21 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the PDP, Makanjuola Ogundipe gave the assurance yesterday in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Ogundipe said the party will emerge stronger and better to give credible and vibrant opposition to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the positions of National Secretary, National Publicity Secretary and National Auditor allotted to the Southwest would make the zone relevant and give it a sense of belonging in the party.
Mr. Ogundipe also assured the members that they would be fair in the distribution of the positions among member-states in the zone.
