However, Buhari lost his bid to overturn the election of a sitting president when a seven-man panel of the Supreme Court affirmed the election of President Goodluck Jonathan but rejected the ruling. They said that it was politically motivated and had little or no judicial content. He warned the government to save the country from imminent collapse.
