We Have Rescued Over 1000 Captives From Sambisa Forest – Theatre Commander

The theatre commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Leo Irabor has disclosed that troops are currently in the heart of Sambisa Forest carrying out operations.
According to him, over 1,000 civilians held captive by the terrorists have been rescued.

General Irabor stated this on Sunday during a press briefing in Maiduguri.

He said the range of successes recorded was not without challenges but that the army saw those challenges as opportunities.

“Our leverage on those opportunities has resulted in more successes. I, therefore, enjoin our citizens, particularly those in Borno State to be part of these progress by contributing positively.

“In Operation Lafiya Dole, we are closer to where we are going than where we started; we believe that your continued support and encouragement will get us there faster”, he said.

While thanking the general public and members of the press for their support to the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, he said, insecurity and terrorism knew no boundaries.
