Barcelona have gone behind the back of Arsenal and Hector Bellerin’s agent to contact the defender this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Bellerin spent eight years in the Catalan giants’ academy before making a move to north London in 2011, but the 21-year-old is being tipped to return to the Nou Camp.
Last week, Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez insisted they were not interested in signing the youngster who was a late replacement for Dani Carvajal in Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad for Euro 2016.
El Confidencial, however, suggest the La Liga outfit have ‘disrespected’ the Gunners by bypassing the club and Bellerin’s agent to get in touch with him.
Other reports claim that Gerard Pique is planning to tap up his compatriot at the Euros in Spain’s training camp.
Pique, like Bellerin, also came through Barca’s youth ranks before joining Manchester United in his teens so understands the tricky situation of his Spain team- mate. It could be a long summer ahead for Arsenal fans…
