CCT Chairman Adjourns Saraki’s Trial Again

Bukola Saraki-Danladi UmarThe trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki for alleged false and anticipatory declaration of assets at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja, has been adjourned.
The hearing was adjourned on Wednesday after prosecution counsel failed to show up.
The tribunal chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, fixed next Tuesday for continuation of trial only 45 minutes into Wednesday’s proceeding.
Mr. Umar, who has again be asked to step down from the case on allegations that he lacked moral standing to continue to preside over Senate President Saraki’s trial, also fixed Tuesday for hearing on the motion seeking his disqualification by the defence team.
The tribunal chairman said a notice would be communicated to the lead prosecution counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, advising him on the new date.
