Freed Adamawa Musician Narrates Ordeal From Hospital Bed

Ado DaukakaAn Adamawa-based musician, Ado Daukaka, who went missing this last Saturday but was found unconscious yesterday at a farm in Lamurde village, has recounted his ordeal.

The musician, who came into limelight during the administration of Murtala Nyako, with his popular praise song for the former governor, was last seen on Saturday after he left for early morning prayers.

His disappearance sparked fears that he may have been killed especially after his latest musical effort titled “Gyara Kayanka”, condemned some elected political office holders in the state, accusing them of deceiving the electorate.

Speaking from his hospital bed on Wednesday where he is under medical observation, the musician confirmed that he was abducted by some unknown persons, confirming speculations that his latest song was responsible for his ordeal.

“They asked me why I sniff around other people’s affairs, which clearly shows that my kidnap had to do with my work as a singer”, he said.

Mr. Daukaka, who missed the naming ceremony of his child born by one of his wives last week as a result of his abduction, however, said he was never physically tortured by his captors, “but I was quite traumatized by being abducted and held captive”.
