Leicester city forward Jamie Vardy is making headlines today after a shock decision to turn down a move to Arsenal.
The 29 year old who was one of the influential players in his team’s unexpected premier league triumph last season currently earns £60,000 per week having signed an improved contract with Leicester in 2016. He scored 24 goals in the 2015/2016 season compared to Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud who scored 16 goals.
Arsenal’s 20 million bid activated his release clause and the North London club reportedly offered Vardy a whooping £120,000 per week which the striker was said to be seriously considering.
It remains unclear why Vardy turned down Arsenal but sources say that a new contract is in the works for him at Leicester.
