The Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has vowed to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the militant group known as the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, whose continued bombings of crude oil pipelines and installations since February of this year, has reduced production capacity below 800,000 barrels per day.
Recall that the Ralph Uwazuruike-led faction of MASSOB on Wednesday distanced itself from the Avengers, saying its activities was against the non-violent stance of the pro-Biafra group.
In its reaction, the Uchenna Madu faction of MASSOB accused the Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, also led by Uwuazuruike and Sunny Okereafor, of sabotaging the cause of Biafra secession.
In a statement he signed and issued to journalists on Friday, Madu said “MASSOB’s attention was drawn to the reaction of Ralph Uwazuruike-led BIM on the support given to the Niger Delta Avengers by us. The latest development have further shown and proved to the Biafran people that the man called Ralph Uwazuruike and his associates like Sunny Okereafor are not existing or clamoring for Biafra.
“How can a sane Biafran person in his or her right senses deny or condemn the Niger Delta Avengers and other genuine Niger Delta groups agitating for Biafra? It’s only a reformed leadership of MASSOB under the us can speak rightly in support of the Niger Delta Avengers on their activities for Biafra actualization, restoration. Why is it that other pro Biafra groups have not condemned MASSOB for its alliance with Niger Delta Avengers?
“Uwazuruike and Co have directly and consciously proved that they are enemies of Ndigbo. This reaction of Ralph uwazuruike further proved his romance with Federal Government through the Department of State Security Services, DSS, to scuttle and sabotage efforts made for Independence of Biafra from Nigeria”.
