Pastor’s Seven-Year-Old Daughter Burnt To Death In Church Inferno

oju-fireA midnight inferno at the Faith Revival Apostolic Church in Egbeda area of Lagos State, yesterday claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl.
The deceased, whose name was given as Priscilla, was the daughter of one of the resident pastors of the church, Peter Adesina.
It was learnt that Priscilla was fast asleep in her parent’s (who were attending the monthly workers’ vigil service within the church premises) apartment when the inferno was noticed around 1.15am.
Though the cause of the fire outbreak was yet to be ascertained, a statement by the Assistant General Overseer of FRAC, Pastor Emmanuel Adenuga, said the girl had died before rescuers got to her.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Fire Service yesterday confirmed the death of the girl in the inferno.
The Director of the service, Mr Rasak Fadipe, told newsmen that the inferno affected the boys’ quarters of the church while a vigil was going on at the main auditorium.
“We met the fire raging when we arrived. It was after the fire was put out that we discovered the little girl’s burnt body in one of the rooms”, he said.
