Woman Who Allegedly ‘Blasphemed’ Beheaded In Kano

Pandemonium struck in Wambai area of Kano State on Thursday after angry Muslims youths allegedly beheaded a female trader over allegations that she blasphemed Prophet Mohammed.

DAILY POST recalls that this is coming barely a week after an outbreak of religious violence and the purported killing of a Christian over alleged blasphemous comments about Prophet Mohammed in Niger State.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Kano Police Command, DSP Musa Magaji, who confirmed the incident reportedly said the victim, who was said to be of Igbo extraction, was accused of blasphemy during a religious argument at Wambai market.
The unnamed woman, who sells plastics at the local market, was in the company of her husband when she was murdered; but for the timely intervention of the police, he would have been lynched.

She was said to have blasphemed Prophet Mohammed, which did not go down well with the mob.

The PPRO said at about 4:30 pm on Thursday, there was a disagreement between the murdered woman and some traders bordering on religion when irate mob pounced on her and killed her over “some comments”.
