Aleogho Raymond DokpesiThe Raymond Dokpesi Campaign Organization (RDCO) for national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has confirmed that the official launch of the campaign would be flagged off today, Saturday, in Benin City, Edo State.

In a statement issued yesterday, the RDCO said the media mogul will kick off his official tour for the highly coveted seat of the PDP chairman by first seeking the blessing of his royal father, the Okumagbe of Weppa – Wanno Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, George Eghabor.

The campaign office stressed that the purpose of the tour is to personally meet with, listen to and address all the delegates of the party, who shall be voting at the National Convention slated for August 17, 2016 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The campaign organization stressed that Dokpesi, as a point of principle, believes that it is only through consultations with all stakeholders and delegates of the party that a national leader who will understand and appreciate the pains and yearnings of the party members across the nation can emerge.

“It is in furtherance of my democratic ideals that returning power to the people must first begin with discussions with the people”, Mr. Dokpesi was quoted as saying.

The founder of AIT/Raypower is currently standing trial on six-count criminal charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He is accused of receiving about N2.1billion from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, for the PDP presidential media campaign.
