The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) has made great strides this season and the league saw its first Lagos Derby on Sunday.

The two Lagos based teams MFM fc and Ikorodu FC squared off at the Agege Stadium yesterday in a match which ended 3-1 in favor of the Olukoya boys.

The result means that Ikorodu United remain confined to the bottom of the table, making relegation a real possibility.

The Lagos state governor, Akinwumi Ambode was present to witness the historic moment.
