kidnapping
The abductors of the Laragunsin of Iyasan, Oba Abiodun Oyewumi, yesterday contacted the family of the monarch to demand for N40 million ransom for his release.

The traditional ruler from Irele Local government area in Ondo State was kidnapped on Monday by 10 suspected gunmen, who stormed his palace, around 10.30 pm.

Reports had it that the hoodlums contacted the family through one of the king’s sons, Folarin Oyewumi who was the only one allowed to speak with them.

The horrific incident has created fear among residents, mainly farmers, now scared to go to their farms.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph said the police would soon arrest the kidnappers as he denied any knowledge of the family’s contact with the kidnappers.
