My Pet Project To Prevent Children’s Death From Malnutrition – Mrs. Buhari

aisha-buhari-3The wife of the president, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, has launched a programme called, “Get involved”, to prevent child mortality as a result of malnutrition.

The wife of the president, in a statement signed by her spokesperson, Nadabo Zakari, said the programme was a major component of her “Future Assured” pet project, which comprises healthcare delivery, education and other facets of lives of Nigerian women and children.

Speaking during the launch of the programme in Abuja yesterday, Mrs Buhari called for the active participation and support of Nigerians and organizations, especially the organized private sector, development partners, relevant United Nations agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

She said with the participation of these bodies, the new initiative would also help to combat the endemic malnutrition among children at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in the country.

Mrs. Buhari stressed that with the collective efforts of well-meaning Nigerians, no child in the country would lack good diet.
