A federal high court sitting in Lagos on Friday deferred ruling on the bail application filed by a former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.
Justice Sule Hassan of the federal high court had after taking the no-guilty plea by Mr. Fani-Kayode and a former Finance Minister, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman on Tuesday, ordered their remand in prison custody till Friday, when he will hear their bail applications.
The former ministers were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside one Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Nigeria Limited, on 17-count charges.
However, at the resumption of hearing today, Justice Hassan postponed ruling on the bail application till Monday, 4 July to enable him review the arguments put forward by Fani-Kayode’s lawyer and that of the EFCC.
The judge also deferred ruling on the bail application filed by Mrs. Usman’s lawyer till Monday.
