Nigerian Army Apprehends Fake Soldier In Akure

The Nigerian Army has apprehended a 28-year-old man Sunday Wali who has been parading himself as a soldier in Akure. The suspect who claimed to be an indigene of Kogi State said he used to be an officer in the Nigerian Army but could not disclose his service number.

Investigations revealed that Sunday, who was accused of being a ‘fake soldier’ has been involved in a series of robbery cases in the state as items such as Police identity card, Army uniforms and stickers were discovered in his apartment.

Spokesman of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Captain Ojo Adelegan, while parading the suspect warned the public to be wary of people with such dubious character and report such to law enforcement agencies, as he added that he has been going around in Army uniform.
