No Violence Recorded In Imo Re-Run Election

The re-run election for the Imo North senatorial constituency on Saturday recorded an impressive turnout of voters, as the voting exercise went orderly and peacefully.

Reports had it that voters arrived at the polling units as early as 7.30 a.m., as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) attached to the Isiala Mbano and Okigwe local government areas, brought in their materials at 9.45 a.m. amidst heavy security.

Accreditation commenced at 10 a.m. in some of the polling stations with the card reader in use and functioning.

However, at Community Secondary School, Amaraku in Isiala Mbano Ward (1) PU 003, the exercise started by 11.50 a.m., the INEC staff in the place attributed the slight delay to logistic challenges.
