Officials of The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State have arrested twelve suspects specialised in vandalising power and water board cables.

The State Commandant of the commission Mr. Philip Ayuba, while addressing reporters in the state capital, said the suspects which were arrested in June have been sentenced to three years imprisonment each.

“We arrested 12 suspects for theft and vandalisation of power and water board cables within Minna and metropolis.

“They were charged to court and sentenced to three years imprisonment each, without an option of bail.”

Ayuba added that three other suspects, of which two are minors, were involved in the vandalisation of fibre optic water pipes and power cables.
