Police Parade 16 Suspected Criminals in Anambra

Police in Awka, the Anambra State capital have paraded a total of sixteen suspected criminals at the State CID and at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) premises, Awkuzu, for various crimes in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ali Okechukwu, while addressing journalists during the parade said that some of the suspects were suspected members of the notorious gang presently terrorizing Nanka community and its environs in Orumba North Local Government Area, while others are involved in murder and cultism cases.

A suspected notorious armed robber Boniface Ikechukwu popularly called Idemili who has been on Police radar for years was among those paraded.

Boniface was arrested in connection with the murder of one Adimora Chukwudelue Emmanuel who he allegedly lured to Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state with his gang, where they took his car from him before beating him to death.

The Police PRO said that efforts are still ongoing to arrest other members of his gang who were still at large while Boniface would be arraigned soon in court.

The Police also paraded the notorious gang of youths at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Awkuzu, for several cases of kidnapping, rape, armed robbery and assassination at Nanka community.

Their continued criminal activities prompted the Anambra State Police Command to re-mobilize and raid the community.

The Police Public Relations Officer Mr Ali Okechukwu appealed to parents to always monitor the activities of their wards and urged the public to continue to volunteer credible information to the Police to ensure that the state continues to be the safest in the country.
