In a strange interview, former Roma defender Cicinho has launched a scathing attack on Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, suggesting his team won the English Premier League by sheer luck.

Raineri, 64, who managed some of the biggest clubs in Europe though without any success, finally won the biggest prize of his managerial career when he led Leicester City to the Premier League crown. The feat was especially amazing because the Foxes finished the previous season close to the relegation drop.

That feat has seen him praised by many around the football world, but Cicinho, who spent five years at Italian side Roma believes the Foxes boss is overrated and will fail in another big club.

“Ranieri, who was champion with … I don’t even remember the name of the club, does not have a game system and does not know how to train,” he was speaking to ESPN.

“When I was at Roma, he put me in trouble and he does not like Brazilians.

“How did he manage to win the English league? Pure luck. If you put him in charge of a great team, it will not go well.”
