The federal government has come under criticism from Stephen Femi Keshi, late Stephen Keshi’s son.

Stephen Keshi junior accused the federal government of failing to keep their promise of sponsoring his father’s burial even after his dad “served the country with so much passion“.

The federal government also came under attack from Hon. Onyemaechi Mrakpor. The honourable representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency said, “From the atmosphere in this hall, it is clear that we are not proud of the role Keshi played in this country. Looking at the young ones, we can imagine what is going on in their minds, that there is no reward for excellence in this nation, so what is the future of our youths?

The attending crowd was seen to be in agreement with her view as her statement was well applauded.

Other notable attendees of the event were Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya and Executive Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Tony Okowa.

Some members of the USA 94 World Cup team were also present. Former super eagles coach Austin EguavonUche Okechukwu, Mutiu Adepoju, Aloy Agu and Peter Rufai paid tribute to their former teammate.
