3 Nigerians Arrested in Malawi over Cocaine Trafficking


Three Nigerians have been arrested in Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital for two separate instances for allegedly being in possession of cocaine, according to reports.

Malawi Police confirmed that they arrested a Nigerian national Tonney Namani for alleged possession of a substance presumed to be cocaine from his home base in Lilongwe.

Police said the arrest was followed by a tip-off.

The suspect is now at Maula Prison and expected to appear before the court soon.

Police also said they arrested two other Nigerian nationals on similar offence after they found them with a bag containing  “suspicious white substance”.
