Christian Benteke Joins Crystal Palace For £27m

It’s a wrap! Crystal Palace has opened its chequebook to sign Liverpool striker, Christian Benteke for a club record fee of £27m as they look to bolster their attacking options this season.

He will be a replacement of sorts for Yannick Bolasie who has been sold to Everton. Benteke joined Liverpool from Aston Villa for £32m in July 2015 but struggled to break into the first team under head coach, Jurgen Klopp.

He will now be looking to a fresh start in his career which once showed promise while he was still at Aston Villa. He has signed a four-year contract with Palace and the deal reportedly involves an additional clause which could see the transfer fee rise to £32m.
