Lassa Fever Kills Doctor In Delta

A doctor has reportedly died of Lassa Fever in a fresh case of the outbreak of the virus in Asaba, Delta state

Confirming the reports, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nicholas Azinge on Monday said the medical doctor who operates his own own hospital in Asaba where he lived until his death, died three hours after he was admitted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, after he tested positive to the deadly virus.

According to reports the doctor’s wife however, tested negative while 32 other people the the doctor had contact with have been quarantined—-also, the hospitals the late doctor visited have been disinfected.
