Political Class To Blame For Kogi’s Security Challenges – Attah Igala

Attah IgalaThe Attah Igala and Chairman of Kogi State Traditional Rulers Council, Dr. Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni, has blamed politicians for some of the security challenges bedeviling the state.

Kogi, which holds a strategic position as a gateway between the northern and southern parts of the country, has in recent times, gained notoriety as a hotbed for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Speaking at his palace in Idah, during a stakeholders’ meeting on security, the Attah Igala called on the political class to desist from overheating the polity in the interest of peace and security of the state.

“The act of maintaining peace and order in a society is not solely the responsibility of the security agencies, individual and even corporate organizations have vital roles to play in making the society a better place for living”, he said.

Earlier, the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr, Abubakar Ohiere, urged the traditional institution to support government in the maintenance of peace and order.
