Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has just left the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he held a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting, which held in the president’s office and lasted about an hour, is unprecedented on many levels considering the fact that Soyinka is not a known visitor to the seat of power.
Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, Soyinka, who was accompanied by Yemi Ogunbiyi, said he visited Buhari to discuss national “and international matters, general matters, that’s all”.

Asked what exactly he discussed with the president, the Nobel Laureate was not forthcoming, promising to address a press conference instead in about a week’s time.
