The 2016 Rio Olympics Is Over And Japan Is Gearing Up For 2020!

16 days of the best performances from the world’s elite sportsmen drew to a close today in Rio De Janeiro Brazil.

The United States won the most medals at Rio, with a massive haul of 121 medals beating the nearest rivals, Great Britain by almost half (Britain won 67 medals). Nigeria won a solitary bronze medal in Soccer.

The three-hour ceremony was held at the Maracana stadium where Japan received the flag, a symbolic gesture to show that they will host the next Olympic games in Tokyo. Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe dressed up as Nintendo game character, Super Mario to receive the flag.
