Police services of Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport arrested, last Wednesday, two Nigerian passengers suspected of hiding cocaine capsules in their stomachs, Morocco national police say.
The suspects, who arrived on a flight from the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo and were bound for Conakry, were arrested after undergoing a CT scan that revealed the presence of drug capsules in their stomachs, the national police pointed out in a statement.
The Nigerian nationals, aged 32 and 36, were placed under medical supervision in the Ibn Rochd hospital of Casablanca, where 2.6kg-cocaine capsules were removed from their intestines, the statement noted.
They are remanded in custody pending the completion of the investigation.
