Cancelling Ondo APC Guber Primary Will Lead To Unending Crisis, Says Party Spokesman

apc-ondo-primariesA chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Publicity Secretary of the party in Ondo State, Omo’Oba Abayomi Adesanya, has warned against cancellation of the party’s primary in the state.

Adesanya warned that if the September 3, 2016 APC primary, which produced Rotimi Akeredolu as flag bearer, the party would lose the November 26 governorship election.

Four of the 24 aspirants that contested in the primaries, have petitioned the APC Appeal Panel Committee, alleging irregularities on the delegates’ list that was used to conduct the exercise.

Among those who submitted their petitions to the panel and calling for the cancellation of the primaries are Chief Olusola Oke, Segun Abraham, Akinwale Akingbade and Senator Ajayi Boroffice.

Cautioning against cancellation of the primaries, Adesanya, who spoke with The Guardian in Akure, the state capital yesterday, added that such action could lead to unending crisis.

Adesanya said: “Cancelling the Ondo State governorship primary will not be in the best interest of the party in the state. I want those who are clamouring for its cancelation to know that such step will lead to disunity, acrimony and unending crisis that will keep the party from winning the November 26 governorship election”.
