An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate presided over by Adesoji Adegboye did not give an option of fine.

Mr. Adegboye, while reviewing the case said the prosecutor, Leranmo Caleb, called five witnesses, and the defence counsel, Busuyi Ayeni, called the convicts as his witness.

He said the evidence of the convicts were not credible, adding that the prosecution proved his case beyond reasonable doubt.

On Tuesday, Mr. Adegboye said he was lenient on the convicts because of the plea of their counsel.

The convicts were charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence and defrauding some people that their brother was a civil defence Officer at Abuja.

Caleb said the convicts committed the crime at Basiri Area between November 2014 and June 2015.

The prosecution said that the convicts under false pretence obtained one million naira from five different people with intent of giving them work at the civil defence.
