No fewer than 15 relatives of the ex-governor of Kogi State Abubakar Audu were reportedly apprehended by the special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in the State.
According to reports, Mohammed, the eldest of his sons, as well as siblings and cousins together with a traditional ruler in the state have all been arrested and detained at theĀ Lokoja Police station.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello has been reportedly accused of being behind the latest predicament of the family members of his predecessor.
However, in a statement released through the his Chief Press Secretary, Fanwo Kingsley, Ā the gov categorically denied Ā having any hand in any arrest of the late Mr. Auduās relatives.
“The Governor did not order the arrest of anybody. However, law enforcement agents are free to effect arrest when anyone infringes the Law.
“If members of Audu family run foul of the Law, they would not be spared just because they are members of Audu’s family,” he said.
