Why We’re Building New Gov’s Office, High Court Complex – Ekiti Govt.

Governor-Ayo-FayoseThe Ekiti State Government has begun the process towards the construction of new governor’s office and state high court complex in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Speaking at the open tender for the construction of the two projects, the Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state, Funmi Ogun, described the new governor’s office and high court complex as some of the legacy projects of the Governor Ayodele Fayose administration.

According to Mrs. Ogun, the consultants’ proposed bill for the construction of the new governor’s office was pegged at N687, 28, 63.63 while the proposed expenditure for the construction of the High Court Complex was N1, 299, 613, 897.60.

She said the contractors that bid for the new governor’s office include: Vyouad Construction Company Limited, with a projection of N852, 152, 82. while Tianjin Yuyang Construction Company and Goodek Ventures Limited quoted N1, 95, 457, 760.45 and N687, 28, 63.63 respectively.

For the construction of the proposed  High Court Complex, Grid Associates Limited and Fovak Construction Limited quoted N1,588,188, 349.13 and N1, 311, 64.373 respectively.

The Commissioner stated that the open tender confirmed the transparency of Fayose’s government and its commitment to prudent management of resources.

“What we are doing today confirms the transparency of our government. It shows that Governor Fayose is incurably committed to giving Ekiti a facelift and make Ado Ekiti capital city a real modern city.

“Ekiti will be 20 by October 1, 2016 and we have to embark on projects that will make Ekiti a developing state that can compete with other capital city in terms of infrastructure.

“The High Court we are presently using was inherited from the old Ondo State and building a new one would afford us the opportunity to put state-of-the-art equipment that can improve judicial administration in the State”, she said.
