Chelsea Football Club’s summer addition Michy Batshuayi unwittingly began some much-needed drama which involved EA Sports’ FIFA and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer.
It all started September 12 when the Belgian striker expressed his displeasure over his ratings in FIFA’s latest release FIFA17.
Batshuayi was upset by receiving a 59 rating for his passing attribute.
He posted on twitter:

Also, another episode took place when EA Sports delayed the release of the FIFA17 demo.
Batshuayi had a cheeky explanation to this, saying EA Sports needed some extra time to fix his exceedingly low passing stats in this year’s game. He tweeted:

He got a reply the next day from EA Sports who replied him with a training session clip of the game, saying ”practice makes perfect”.

Meanwhile, Batsman (as he is fondly called) wasn’t about to take that insult lying down and pretended to go and download FIFA’s biggest competition, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), instead of playing their game again.
He tweeted:

But later followed with this post to say he was joking:

And then the unexpected happened…
Adding more spice to the drama, PES themselves announced that Batshuayi’s passing rating was far superior in their game. Also asking him if he would like a copy:

If you think the drama would have ended at this stage, then you are wrong.
Nathaniel Chalobah, another Chelsea youngster, tweeted at Batshuayi asking for a match on the FIFA17 he just got:

However, the tug-of-war seemingly died down until Sunday when PES wished him a happy birthday with this funny tweet with mention of his far superior passing rating in their game:

One ponders if this is an end to the twitter drama. Another episode perhaps? We will have to find out.
Batshuayi was signed from French side Olympique Marseille on July 3 for a reported fee of €40 million. He was the first signing of Chelsea new manager Antonio Conte.
