A car bomb explosion has been reported in Maiduguri, the stronghold of the dreaded Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Wednesday reported the explosion in a series of tweets as it added that emergency workers are already on their way to the scene.
“There is a reported case of bomb blast around Muna Garage,” NEMA tweeted.
“Emergency workers are on their way to the scene,” it said.

According to an eyewitness, there are Red Cross vehicles near the area.
