Liverpool And Manchester United Play Out Boring 0-0 Draw

What was billed to be ninety minutes of intense action and goals at the Anfield petered out into a boring goalless draw.

Until this game, Liverpool have been ruthless in attack, dazzling pundits, and fans with their goal scoring abilities.

Both teams made little or no changes to their starting line-up. Firminho, Mane, Coutinho and Sturbridge led the line for Liverpool while United had Rushford and Ibrahimovic.

Daley Blind, Ashley Young, and Ander Herrera also started for United while Pogba was pushed higher up the field.

United was expected to sit back and defend in the first half but they did just the opposite in the first twenty minutes. They fought for every ball and gave Liverpool very little time to string passes together.

By the end of the first half, Liverpool had all the possession and nothing to show for it thanks to their sloppy passing. The game never really sprung to life with United content to let Liverpool retain possession while they remained steady at the back.

The clearest chance of the game came when Coutinho attempted to curl a long-range shot past De Gea who responded with a top class save.
