NDLEA Nabs 2 Drug Traffickers At Enugu Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Friday arrested two suspected drug traffickers, Adibe Wisdom Baloba, 47, and Esonwunne Onyechi Benson, 31 at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

One of suspect was caught with 74 wraps of cocaine while the other was apprehended while trying to use an innocent passenger in smuggling cannabis concealed in noodles to China.

Confirming the arrests, the NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mitchel Ofoyeju, identified the suspect who excreted 74 wraps of cocaine as a clearing and forwarding agent.

According to him, the suspect was arrested while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to China. He said that the Chairman/Chief Executive of the Agency, Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah advised members of the public, particularly passengers not to collect consignment from people.

According to investigations, Esonwunne was twice deported from China in 2008 and May 2016 on immigration related offences while Adibe who is a father of five said that he accepted five thousand dollars to smuggle cocaine to China.
