*Nigerian commits future to Chinese Club for another year
*Martins set to earn $9 million in 2017
Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins has reportedly signed a contract extension with Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua until 2017 in a deal that will make him the highest-paid Nigerian player.
Media reports confirmed that the former Seattle Sounders forward committed his future to the club he joined last February and would earn about $9 million over the next 12 months in salaries and bonuses.
Martins has netted nine times in 17 appearances for the Shanghai club, making him the second top scorer after the injured Sengalese Demba Ba this year.
To celebrate his new deal, Obagol recently got himself a Bentley SUV which is claimed to be the fastest in the world with a top speed of 301 km/hr.
Congrats to him.
