Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has claimed Tottenham Hotspur are title favorites after their Sunday afternoon encounter which saw Tottenham claim all three points.
Despite his brilliant start to the season, Pep and Manchester City found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-0 hammering to deny end their perfect start.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side ensured City’s lead at the top of the table has now been reduced to one point. Speaking after the match, Guardiola admitted Tottenham have to be considered title favorites.
“They were (title favorites) last season. Why not? The same trainer, new players. In two, three years, my team will be better.
“In that sense it’s normal. In the Premier League, there are many teams who can achieve that and Tottenham are one of them.”
“They were the better team. It can happen sometimes.
“We play against one team that has been together the last two or three years, who last season were fighting until the end to win the Premier League.”
