The Bauchi State Police Command says it averted an attempted jail break at the Federal Prison Bauchi on Sept. 9.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Zaki Ahmed, revealed this on Friday while speaking to reporters on the activities of the command.

According to him, one Mahmud Tanimu planned on breaking out his brother (names withheld) who is standing trial on terrorism charges.

Alh Ahmed said the command, following intelligent reports dispatched its anti-terrorism squad who foiled the plans.

The commissioner said that Tanimu was subsequently arrested by the police.
