President Muhammad Buhari has found himself in political hot water less than two years after getting into power on the back of popular support.
Despite his commitment to fighting corruption, the reality for many Nigerians has become a bad economy and a weakening Naira.
The tide of public opinion is against a President whose anti-corruption drive has failed to convict a single person. Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari criticised her husband this week in an interview, suggesting she will not support his re-election in 2019 based on his poor performance.
She made veiled references to the President’s cabinet as well as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). President Buhari’s reply came in an interview today, suggesting his wife has no place in critiquing hos government.
Buhari said : “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room”
