The Bayelsa state government has declared a 2-day fasting and prayers to pray thank God for keeping the country and the state together despite the recession.

The program which started on October 31, will end on Tuesday, November 1.

Similarly, the state government also declared Wednesday, November 2, 2016, as a public holiday, in commemoration of its annual thanksgiving celebration.

“We, therefore, urge everyone who believes in the Almighty God to come out and thank Him, irrespective of all political differences and affiliations. We must all come together and worship God for holding and keeping the state together through the thick, thin and trying times recently faced,” Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Jonathan Obuebite, said.
