At least eight people were injured Monday following an apparent shooting at Ohio State University, media reported, with the Columbus campus still on lockdown and on alert.

One person was in critical condition, CNN reported, citing the Columbus Fire Department. NBC earlier reported that two were in stable condition and the conditions of the others was unknown.

The university’s emergency management service urged students and staff to shelter in place.

“Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College,” the service said in a tweet.

A second tweet moment later told the public to “Continue to shelter in place. Avoid area of College.”

Ohio State is one of the largest universities in the United States, with roughly 60,000 students on the main campus in Columbus.
