In the end it was two Chelsea players that got on the score-sheet for Nigeria as Victor Moses continued his fine season for club and country.
Whilst John Obi Mikel scored a rare goal to put Nigeria 2-0 up.
It was Moses playing in a front three alongside fellow premiership players, Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi, that opened the scoring on 25 minutes, before adding a late goal.
Elsewhere,fellow Group members Cameroon and Zambia were locked in a 1-1 draw, making the Super Eagles group leaders with 6 points. Cameroun comes second in the group with 2 points, while Zambia and Algeria both have a point.
