Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has praised his teammate Wayne Rooney following the team’s 4-0 victory over Feyenoord in the Europa League. Rooney scored a goal and assisted another as he inched closer to breaking Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record at the club.
Rooney is one goal away from tying the record of 249 goals Bobby Charlton scored at the club and Zlatan believes Rooney is “the perfect player”
“He is a fantastic person,” Ibrahimovic, who provided the assist for Rooney’s goal said, “I am happy he broke the record. But I will help him to go one more. That I see as the real record.”
Rooney has been under intense media scrutiny after photos of him leaving a wedding drunk while on International duty surfaced. The player accused the media of ‘trying to write his obituary’ and we can only reckon this is his way of fighting back.
